I met my four best friends at camp – I met one of them the very first day of camp 20+ years ago! We are still best friends to this day – they all know me inside and out and accept me for who I am. I was very shy as a child, and summer camp and my friends had a big part in helping me come out of my shell. Living among camp friends creates a different kind of friendship, one that is like family that lasts a lifetime. I hope SCOPE campers experience the joy and love that comes along with making friends at camp. It’s a different type of friendship when you live among your peers and it is those friendships that last a lifetime.
I met my best friends at camp – our friendships have withstood the tests of time and distance and it’s great to have friends that know me so well. Every child deserves that. The confidence that I learned at camp has helped me succeed both in college and in life and has led me to do really cool and adventurous things like teaching abroad for two years! Camp is a big part of who I am today and I think it’s important to pay it forward by supporting SCOPE.
