My mom and dad don’t have a lot of money. Most days in the summer I just sat on the stoop with my mom and baby sister. I had no one to play with and I was sick of T.V. I just wanted to play outside.
Going to camp with a SCOPE scholarship was a great gift. I was so excited to do outdoor activities, sports, and be able to play with other kids.
I got to swim in a lake, play softball, and basketball. I played games that my mom and little sister can’t play with me. It was so cool to meet kids from all over the place. I started a list of all the new places I want to see and all my new friends I want to go visit. Camp was great because I was never lonely.
