Hi! I hope you are doing well. As you may know, sleepaway camp was a life-changing experience for me. I learned about myself, gained leadership skills, and made life-long friendships. I was fortunate enough to have this incredible experience, but not all children do. That is why I started volunteering with an organization called SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education).
SCOPE gives children from low-income families the opportunity to step outside the boundaries of their home like to be challenged in a healthy and safe overnight summer camp environment. This unmatchable experience not only promotes self-growth but teaches children how to be independent and exposes them to different social environments.
