Help Make Overnight Summer Camp Accessible for ALL Children Support SCOPE

Camp Mah-Kee-Nac Supports SCOPE

The Camp Mah-Kee-Nac community believes strongly that camp makes a difference in the lives of children. We support SCOPE’s mission to provide children from under-resourced communities with access to attend nonprofit, ACA-accredited, overnight camps.

Every summer our campers have the opportunity to participate in our long-standing tradition, The Lake Swim. Starting in 2022, we announced that when campers converge on the Stockbridge Bowl, they will be doing so in support of SCOPE. Whether a camper is getting in the water or cheering on their friends, our campers contribute to the community’s effort in supporting SCOPE.

Last summer, during our 2nd annual Swim 4 SCOPE events we raised $7,700! This provided more than 5 children with two-week opportunities at overnight summer camp! We were and still are blown away by your generosity.

This year, with your continued support, we hope to provide even more children with access to SCOPE partner camps. We are thrilled by the overwhelming support from our camp families during the first-session lake swim, raising over $10,000! Our initial goal of $8,000 has been surpassed, and we are excited to raise our target to $12,500. We can’t wait for our second session swim on July 26th and our TJC 1/2 lake swim on the 29th!

Parents, alumni, and friends alike can donate to SCOPE in honor of their camper swimming, cheering, or just loving and appreciating camp!

About SCOPE

SCOPE believes that summer camp is an essential component of the year-round educational continuum and plays a critical role in helping children from underserved communities to thrive. Unfortunately, these children have little or no access to summer camps and programs, resulting in an enormous achievement gap and summer learning loss. SCOPE bridges this gap by making summer camp accessible to as many deserving children as possible.
