About BAKyard Jams
Bob And Karen Frankel were beloved members of the Westchester community, known for their generosity and kindness. After 50 years of marriage, Bob tragically passed away in April 2020, followed by Karen in January 2023. Their daughter, Shana Koransky, made it her mission to turn her pain into purpose, and honor their legacy through bringing people together to do acts of giving back.
BAKyard Jams was created in Bob and Karen’s honor. Throughout Shana’s childhood, her parents supported her passion for music, and they found a camp which allowed her to do what she loved for nine summers. Hosting BAKyard Jams to benefit SCOPE, a nonprofit that provides summer camp opportunities to children from all socio-economic backgrounds, was an easy choice. SCOPE camps help kids build life skills that set them up for success, and 100% of children who receive camperships commit to staying in school. SCOPE’s mission perfectly aligns with Bob and Karen Frankel’s values of generosity and giving back.
BAKyard Jams is helping to provide life-changing opportunities for children who will hopefully carry forward the same spirit of kindness and resilience that Bob and Karen instilled in their children.
