Opening Doors to Camp in Summer 2026

SCOPE is proud to announce a major Summer 2026 milestone: more than 1,600 camperships will be awarded to children across five regions, supported by a $2.2 million allocation.

This year’s impact is especially meaningful as SCOPE expands its reach with the launch of a new West region, helping bring the joy, growth, and belonging of overnight summer camp to even more under-resourced communities.

“Every campership is a reminder that when we invest in children, we help create pathways to potential that extend far beyond a single summer. This 2026 milestone reflects what the SCOPE community makes possible together.”

Molly Hott Gallagher, SCOPE Executive Director

Why Camperships Matter

When you level the playing ground of possibility, you give all children new pathways to potential. By expanding access to overnight camp, SCOPE bridges academic gaps, fosters emotional resilience, and empowers children on a pathway to realize their full success.

In a Camper’s Own Words:

“Camp has allowed me to be more open to new ideas, be more planned, and more organized, because when you’re making something, you need a plan so it can turn out the way you want it to be. Camp has affected me in the outside world by helping me think outside the box and expand my mindset.” – Sanaa, Beam Camp

“Camp is like food for my spirit that helps keep me going in the right direction. I plan for camp the entire year. I look forward to it, think about who I’ll meet and what adventures we’ll have.”” – Dane, YMCA Frost Valley Camp

About SCOPE

SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education) is a national nonprofit funder of overnight summer camp and college scholarships, creating pathways to potential through Camp, Classroom, College, and Career for children and teens from under-resourced communities who commit to staying in school.

Camp is just the first step. SCOPE’s unique model incentivizes children to STAY on the pathway to potential.
