WORKING TOWARDS A COMMON GOAL
Working with people from around the world is an eye opening experience, and working with a part of American culture that serves as a beacon for the rest of the world. Camp is a great example of people coming together and working towards a common goal, in this case, creating a safe and fun place for kids to grow.
UNPLUGGING
Being unplugged is so liberating. Not relying on technology in our modern world is amazing. Having real conversations face-to-face builds character. Not defaulting to hiding behind a screen or using our devices as a crutch forces us get out of our comfort zones.
BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER
Camp brings people together, forms families beyond bloodlines, transcends generations and reminds us that there is good in this world.
A WORRY-FREE SPACE
I hope SCOPE campers do not have to worry about the added stress they may face coming from underserved communities, but also not having to worry about the typical kid stress of over anxious parents, overwhelming schoolwork and pressure about the future.
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
I also hope SCOPE campers experience unconditional love from their friends and counselors.
A PLACE TO BE A KID
Camp is a safe place where I hope campers can let their guard down and be kids.
Camp brings out the best in people. The world needs that.
